Bold ideas to challenge hunger in West Virginia
Food For All is an active coalition comprised of organizations and grassroots supporters whose mission includes changing policy at the state level to reduce food insecurity. The coalition began in 2018. Using our collective knowledge and experience about food insecurity in WV and state policy, we chose five policy ideas to usher in the 2019 WV Legislative Session.
The team also wanted to inspire and engage grassroots groups in communities around the state, so in November 2018 Food For All hosted its first summit. Two of the five policy proposals from the summit were passed in the 2019 WV State Legislature - lifting the ban on SNAP for felons, and an increase in administrative funding for food banks.
